MCPS again offering kids free summer meals

MCPS again offering kids free summer meals: there's' a new number to text "lunch" to MISSOULA - School is out for summer, but breakfast and lunch are still on the menu at some Missoula schools as once again this year, Missoula County Public Schools is offering a free meal to children ages 18 and younger. Breakfast is being served from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on weekdays at Franklin Elementary School and CM Russell Elementary School. Meanwhile, lunch is offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays at Franklin, Russell, Lowell and Chief Charlo schools. MCPS officials add that Hawthorne School will begin breakfast and lunch meal services on June 20, and that summer meals will be served through Aug. 16. There's also a new texting service being offered up that offers anyone with a cell phone the opportunity to quickly identify their nearest summer meal site. Just text "lunch" to 877-877 and information will be provided regarding the three closest sites.
