Missoula's 9th annual Project Homeless Connect will be Friday, January 30 at First United Methodist Church. Project Homeless Connect is a one-day, one-stop service event for people who are homeless and those at-risk of becoming homeless. The help of more than 75 non-profit service providers, local businesses, churches, government agencies and close to 200 community volunteers make this event possible. Service available include:
Haircuts
Medical and dental care
Warm meal
Clothing
Blankets
Pet vaccinations
Legal advice
Housing assistance
Employment counseling
Benefits enrollment
Senior services
Personal hygiene packets
Disability services
IDs and birth certificates

Free summer meals for kids and teenagers
Free summer lunch and breakfast
Free meals are offered at five Missoula County Public Schools each weekday during the summer.
Lunch is available starting at 11 a.m. at Franklin, Lowell, Russell, Hawthorne and Chief Charlo elementary schools.
Breakfast is available beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Franklin, Russell and Hawthorne schools.

MCPS again offering kids free summer meals: there's' a new number to text "lunch" to
MISSOULA - School is out for summer, but breakfast and lunch are
still on the menu at some Missoula schools as once again this year, Missoula County Public Schools is offering a free meal to children ages 18 and younger.
Breakfast is being served from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on weekdays at Franklin Elementary School and CM Russell Elementary School. Meanwhile, lunch is offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays at Franklin, Russell, Lowell and Chief Charlo schools.
MCPS officials add that Hawthorne School will begin breakfast and lunch meal services on June 20, and that summer meals will be served through Aug. 16.
There's also a new texting service being offered up that offers anyone with a cell phone the opportunity to quickly identify their nearest summer meal site. Just text "lunch" to 877-877 and information will be provided regarding the three closest sites.

Best Beginnings Child-care Scholarships
Best Beginnings Scholarship
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services Early Childhood Services Bureau (ECSB) offers “Best Beginnings” child-care scholarships to qualified low-income families whose child attends a licensed child care center, registered group or family child care home, or legally unregistered child care provider. Each family participates in the cost of that care by making a co-payment based on a sliding fee scale.

This is an internal fund we have set aside for emergencies and short term use such as when a parent is performing a job search. We also use this fund to help families pay for summer camps for their children while they are out of school so that the parents can continue to work.
